Our Services

At Caring Family Dentistry, we offer a range of advanced comprehensive dental services to patients of all ages. Our doctors have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide every patient with the care they need. With a warm and welcoming environment, our patients feel comfortable and can ask any questions they may have about their dental treatments.

Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Traditionally, if crowns, onlays, inlays or dental veneers were required to restore damaged teeth, multiple procedures and a great deal of waiting time in-between was expected. CEREC® creates these ceramic restorations within minutes in the dental office. This means that many treatments can be completed in just a single visit. CEREC® is comprised of several computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a milling machine that creates custom ceramic restorative devices. This is of great benefit to nervous patients, and also reduces the cost of treatment.

The Solea laser takes the drill, the needle, the noise and the pain out of dental visits.

Initial Oral Examination

During your initial oral examination, Dr. Sheffler will complete a visual examination and x-rays of your mouth and chart any problem areas he sees. Then he will complete a periodontal probing, diagnosis, and discuss treatment recommendations.

LANAP or Laser Assisted Attached Procedure is one of the newest procedures to treat gum disease. LANAP is an FDA Approved treatment that offers patients a less invasive approach to treating periodontal disease. This procedure uses a precision laser to remove infected gum tissues without the need for sutures or stitches. It helps preserve your gum tissue and promotes healthy tissue regeneration.

For more information about this procedure and other laser dental treatments, please visit our LANAP page.

Dental Crowns

If you have cracked, broken or decayed teeth, a dental crown can give you a brand new smile. Dental crowns look and act just like natural teeth. The dental crown will be fit onto your damaged tooth and protect what is left of your natural tooth. Contact us today to see if dental crowns could work for you.

When tooth loss occurs due to gum disease, decay or injury, the loss of the tooth can create greater problems for your dental health if it is not corrected. The teeth next to the missing tooth (or teeth) can begin to move and result in pain and discomfort. With bridges, Dr. Sheffler can close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge will look and act just like natural teeth, is permanently cemented and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth.

Digital X-rays

This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can then be viewed and enlarged helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems easier. Digital x-rays reduce radiation compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays. These x-rays are essential, preventative, and a diagnostic tool that provides valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam.

Tooth Whitening

In one visit with Dr. Sheffler for tooth whitening, you will start seeing a whiter and brighter smile! With our whitening services the effects of coffee, smoking, tea, and other causes for tooth discoloration, will slowly disappear leaving a beautiful white smile. Our process is fast, immediate and will help make you look years younger.

Composite Fillings

A composite filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, or fractures. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth is removed and filled with a composite filling. There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Dr. Sheffler will discuss the best options for restoring your teeth.

Dental Implants

If you're missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be the perfect solution for you. Dental implants are natural-looking and are permanently anchored into the patient's jawbone. It is important to replace missing teeth, because if left with spaces, your teeth can shift and cause a variety of dental problems. When your dental implants are placed, your jaw will bond and attach to the implant. To see if you're a candidate for dental implants, call us today and make an appointment!
